Iron, Ferritin, Anemia Panel
Understanding Your Iron Status + Functional Lab Support with Connection Care Therapy
The Iron, Ferritin & Anemia Panel combines comprehensive anemia testing with an inflammation marker to evaluate iron storage, iron availability, red blood cell health, and factors that may influence the interpretation of iron status.
Rather than looking at ferritin alone, this testing provides a more complete picture of possible iron depletion or anemia and helps identify when additional investigation or support may be appropriate.
Why Test Iron, Ferritin, Anemia?
Healthy iron stores are essential for oxygen transport, energy production, cognitive function, reproductive health, and overall wellness. Low iron stores can occur before anemia develops, while anemia itself can have causes beyond iron deficiency. Additionally, inflammation can influence ferritin levels, making ferritin more difficult to interpret in isolation.
By evaluating iron and ferritin alongside red blood cell markers, key nutrients involved in blood cell production, and inflammation, this panel provides greater context for understanding your iron status and identifying patterns that may warrant additional support or medical evaluation.

How It Works

Markers Tested in the Iron, Ferritin, Anemia Panel
- Anemia Panel: Provides a comprehensive evaluation of red blood cell health and iron status, including a CBC with differential and platelets, ferritin, iron and iron-binding markers, transferrin saturation, reticulocyte count, vitamin B12, and folate. Together, these markers can help identify iron depletion, determine whether anemia is present, and provide clues about potential nutritional contributors and patterns of anemia.
- C-Reactive Protein (CRP): Measures a marker of systemic inflammation. Because ferritin can increase in response to inflammation, CRP provides valuable context when interpreting ferritin and other iron markers.
